Scrap Drivers Certificate Competence (DCPC) to ease driver shortage

A drivers certificate of professional competence, or DCPC, also known as a certificate of professional competence, has been required since 2009.

RHA and FTA have asked the government to remove the CPC requirement to help the haulage industry with the driver shortage.

This will enable LGV license holders to return to driving if they do not have a DCPC.

The program has failed to deliver on its promises when it was first introduced and has impacted the economy to a great degree.
